It all started when...

I graduated from the University of York and went on to study at the London School of Journalism before beginning my career as a copywriter. Over the past 8 years I've had the pleasure of working with some of the boldest and brightest agencies around, writing for brands such as Boots, Yell, American Express, Bowers & Wilkins, Macmillan and even Google. I've worked as a senior in-house copywriter for a global digital marketing agency, and have enjoyed several stints freelancing and hopping from contract to contract. Bottom line? I've worked on briefs of all shapes and sizes, and I know the right questions to ask to help you achieve your goals.

From penning the perfect press release, to writing web copy that's guaranteed to convert, I have one job - to build a bridge between you and your audience with crisp, clean and effective copy.

So, how did I get into freelancing?

Up until a couple of years ago, I was a slave to long train commutes and queuing for my morning coffee. I enjoyed my work, but not the 9-5 lifestyle or the baggage that came with it. Feeling bold, I decided to stop commuting into London and set up as a freelancer, passing the savings I make every day onto my clients. Not only am I more affordable than your average copywriting agency, you also get a professional one-on-one service that's open, honest and flexible. Everybody wins, and I get to drink my own delicious coffee.

I do the majority of my work from my office here in the canal town of Berkhamsted, where I also live with my partner and our faithful Jack Russell, Eddie.

Eddie keeps me company while I work, usually snoozing under the desk or on the rug after his morning ramble. I still leave him for on-site work occasionally, but tools like Skype and Slack make agile working a breeze, and most clients prefer the lower rates and convenience of having an expert they can outsource to.

When I'm not helping agencies with big brand projects, my focus turns to small, local businesses. From property lawyers and accountancy firms to physiotherapists and hair salons, I've helped dozens of local businesses establish their brand and still write for many of them today.

I embrace all things digital, but as sophisticated as the online world gets I know that words will always be the cornerstone of marketing.

If you need an experienced writer who's friendly, flexible and dedicated, contact me today. Whether you're after a few articles or you're looking to totally reinvent your brand, I'm always happy to help.
